VIC Fires is an educational application designed for iPhone users that provides the latest bush fire data in Victoria, Australia. The app uses data feeds from the Victorian Country Fire Authority and the Victorian Department of Sustainability to display the most recent information about fires in the area. Additionally, the wind data from the Bureau of Meteorology and the GPS location of your iPhone help to provide a list of fires, with the nearest ones being displayed first, allowing you to understand your current situation.
It is important to note that this application does not cache any data, and it requires an internet connection, either wireless, 3G, or GPRS, to access the data. The iPod Touch version of the app is also available, but the GPS location may not be reliable.
